OVERVIEW
The Good
Tons of replayability/customization in the core set
A beautiful merge of theme and mechanics
Great art
The Bad
The symbols and terminology can be quite complex when learning to play, so new players will need a few games to get acquainted with the rules and card effects.
I would love for there to be a more solidified campaign structure (though this may be in the works)
Cost (of expansions) will be an issue for many.

Marvel Champions is a game I cannot play enough. This is not a deck-builder, but a deck construction game. I love the fact that you build your own character deck using personality cards, as well. For example, you can play as an aggressive Spider-Man or She-Hulk focused on protection. This mixing and matching allows for incredible variability/replayability (even in just the core set) and sets up for beautiful combos and thematic immersion.
Even more, your chosen hero will have distinct abilities based on whether you have the hero side (Spider-Man) or alter-ego side (Peter Parker) active, and the villains will respond to this. While you are healing yourself in alter ego form, you aren’t able to attack the villain, but likewise, they cannot attack you. Instead, they will ‘scheme’ advancing their evil agendas, moving forward toward the end game (...pun intended). This balance between hero/alter ego, attacking/thwarting creates an amazingly thematic, strategic adventure.
I cannot praise this game enough and I cannot play this game enough. The more I play, I discover better and stronger combos, better ways to build my deck, better ways to increase the difficulty of the villains. I cannot wait to expand my collection, try out some of these new campaigns (semi-campaigns), and keep discovering more.
Marvel Champions The Card Game certainly deserves the title of “champion."
