The Good
Wonderful story, with a theme that makes it easy to immersive yourself in the roles
Games are tense, good range of difficulty
Great components
The Bad
Some rules/mechanics can be difficult to keep track of, the game has a decent amount of upkeep
For the price, there are a limited number of scenarios in the base game, while this will easily account for ~20 hours of gameplay, expansions can be used to fill in the gaps.
Highly affected by RNG

Overall, this game offers a great experience and a wonderful story ark that is easy to engage with. The games are delightfully tense, without being too stressful or overwhelming.
Part of the beauty of this game lies in the simplicity. Many other games (I’m looking at your Gloomhaven) require long set-up, take-down, and are fairly high-maintenance in terms of upkeep throughout the game. Mice and Mystics shines with more simplicity in this area, with moderate set-up/take-down and getting rid of complexities like line of sight.
Now the games can be very dependant on a few die rolls, in which even the best laid plans of mice and… wait a minute. Well your plans will likely go awry. But nevertheless, I think you’ll find you enjoyed your session and will want to bring this back to the table and immerse yourself in the story.
